The Graphtec CE8000 Series is a high‑performance roll‑feed cutting plotter built for signage, vinyl graphics, print‑&‑cut, automotive wrap, apparel (HTV/DTF), POP/packaging and more. Enhanced rigidity, ARMS registration, and workflow automation like barcode DataLink and wireless connection boost reliability and speed.
The Graphtec CE8000 series is designed to help businesses in signage, apparel, packaging, POP displays, automotive wrap etc. increase throughput, reduce waste, and deliver consistent, high‑quality results. Compared to the CE7000, the CE8000 improves structural rigidity, improving media feed accuracy and cut quality. Key new capabilities like wireless connection, improved tool handling, and automated workflows (like barcode DataLink) mean fewer manual interventions and more reliable operations. For customers, that translates into less downtime, fewer mistakes, less material waste, and better margin.
ARMS (Advanced Registration Mark Sensing): This is Graphtec’s system for detecting registration marks on printed media so that the cutter, even if the print is slightly skewed or mis‑aligned, can align the cut path correctly. This is vital in print‑and‑cut workflows.
Cutting force, speed & accuracy: The CE8000 delivers up to ~450 gf of force, speeds up to about 39 inches per second (~990‑1,000 mm/s depending on model & material) in 45° vectors, and repeatability of ± 0.1 mm over typical job‐lengths (e.g. a few metres).
Media handling & stability: Adjustable push rollers, the “Media Set Assist” function, and optional media basket (for long rolls) help maintain stable feeding and reduce media shifting or lift, leading to cleaner cut edges and fewer rejected jobs.
Connectivity & Workflow Automation: USB, Ethernet (10/100), optional wireless LAN enable flexible placement and integration. The barcode DataLink function allows the cutter to read barcodes printed on the material (or in files) so jobs can be queued or triggered automatically from USB or PC, which helps in batch or ON‑DEMAND production. Offline cutting (via USB flash) is supported.
User interface & usability enhancements: The new control panel combines a touch screen with mechanical keys; the tool holder is redesigned for easier blade/tool changes; the menu structure has been refined for better intuitiveness. Firmware updates can be done over USB or wireless LAN (if equipped).
The CE8000 is suited to a wide range of applications, including:
The CE8000 improves on the CE7000 in several ways: enhanced rigidity (leading to better media feeding and more accurate cuts), wireless LAN as an option (for more flexible positioning or networked workflows), refined tool/holder design, better media stability via push rollers and the Media Set Assist, improved control panel (touchscreen + mechanical keys), and workflow enhancements like barcode DataLink for automatic job detection. These upgrades help reduce error, waste, and production time.
The CE8000 supports a wide variety of media: vinyl, marking film, reflective materials, heat transfer vinyl (HTV) / DTF film, synthetics, paper, etc. Media thickness up to ~ 0.25 mm in many cases depending on the blade and settings. For sheet media, optional accessories like the carrier sheet table are available.
The machine offers repeatability of about ± 0.1 mm over typical job lengths (e.g. up to a few metres). When using features like ARMS (registration marks), the cutter aligns accurately even if the printed material isn’t perfectly placed. Environmental control (temperature, humidity), correct roller adjustment, and proper media handling all help maintain accuracy.
The maximum speed is around 39 inches per second (~ 990‑1,000 mm/s) in a 45° direction. Actual speed will depend on media type, thickness, blade angle, job complexity (contours, cuts, curves) and whether precision is being sacrificed. Heavier or thicker media will require slower speeds to maintain clean cuts.
Yes. It supports offline operation via USB flash drive: you can save cutting jobs (designed with Graphtec Studio 2 or Cutting Master 5 etc.) to a USB drive, plug into the machine, and start cutting without a PC. Also, the barcode DataLink function allows jobs to be automatically recognized from barcodes printed on the media or job files. This is useful for batch workflows or tasks where multiple jobs are queued.
Wireless LAN is an optional module for the CE8000. Standard connectivity includes USB 2.0 and Ethernet (10/100). If you require WiFi/network flexibility, check that you get the version with the wireless LAN option.
Optional accessories include: media baskets (for long roll media), the carrier sheet table for sheet media (for CE8000‑40/60), additional push rollers (useful for heavy or large media), various blade holders (for specialty blades, reflective/etc.), anti‑static kits, etc. These accessories can significantly help reduce errors, improve media handling, and increase versatility. If your workflow includes frequent long roll cuts or mixed media types, accessories are valuable.
The operating temperature range is approximately 10‑35 °C; humidity between 35‑75 % RH (non‑condensing). The best accuracy is achieved at about 16‑32 °C and 35‑70 % RH. Also, you’ll need space for loading roll media, room to open/operate the control panel, change blades, etc. Larger models (CE8000‑60 / 130) require more floor space and a sturdy stand. Power supply is auto‑switching for AC100‑120 V or AC200‑240 V depending on region.
Regular maintenance includes cleaning the blade and holder, ensuring the cutting strip is clean, keeping rollers and media paths free of dust or residue, checking blade sharpness, ensuring firmware/software are up to date. Replace the blade when cuts degrade. Using original consumables helps maintain performance and avoid damage.
The ROI depends on your volume, variety of jobs, media costs, labour savings, and waste reduction. If you're doing many small jobs, print & cut work, or frequent roll media cutting, the automation features (barcode, offline USB jobs, media stability) can reduce setup and error costs. Cuts are more precise so waste is lower. Over time this yields savings in materials, time, labour, and rework. For many signage / graphics shops the investment pays off in 1‑2 years, depending on usage.
